Bob Whelan is the founder and principal of an independent risk management and insurance advisory firm. Through his ventures and strategic consulting engagements, he advises organizations on the design, financing, and optimization of risk and insurance programs across a broad range of industries.

With more than 20 years of experience spanning claims, brokers, in-house risk management, and consulting, Bob brings an enterprise perspective to complex risk challenges. His experience includes sports and entertainment, real estate, utilities, education, manufacturing, distribution, and healthcare, with expertise ranging from traditional insurance structures to sophisticated retention and alternative risk strategies. His collaboration with Blades, Crout & Proulx, LLC brings a breadth of professionalism that benefits both his clients and the core organizations.

Bob holds a bachelor’s degree and MBA from Thomas More University and maintains professional designations including Senior Claims Law Associate (SCLA) and Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist (CLCS). He is a past board member of the Society of Risk Management Consultants and has served in civic leadership roles in Northern Kentucky. Bob is a licensed insurance consultant in multiple states and a frequent writer on commercial insurance and risk management topics, including articles published through IRMI.
